Scholarships Are Available for MMG Members!
The John and Bella Sanders Scholarship Program began in October of 2002 when John and Bella were honored by the Midwest Miniature Guild. In appreciation, it was stated that “No two other people have given as much time sawing, packing, writing lesson plans, teaching and organizing in our group than these two leaders.”
The goal of the Scholarship Program is to promote the advancement of the hobby of miniatures by supporting members who wish to learn skills that can be shared with the Guild. In exchange for the scholarship, the recipient agrees to teach a workshop within one year of taking the workshop.
Financial need is not a criterion for inclusion in the Scholarship Program
Applicants are required to teach the skill, not necessarily the project, they learn
Money awarded by the Scholarship Program is up to 75% of the workshop fee
Awards are limited to no more than two scholarships for any one workshop
Awards may not be used for travel, lodging, meals or personal use
The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to limit scholarship based on funds available.
The Scholarship Committee is headed by Mary Breslin. Questions can be directed to Mary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Members are encourage to apply for a scholarship!
“Why get a scholarship? To cut the cost of the workshop you already want to take, have that extra money to spend on more minis in the sales room and to share the techniques you learned with your fellow miniaturists. YOU ARE A HERO!!” Alice R., MMG Member
“The Scholarship Program allowed me to participate in a workshop that I might not have taken. My award was for 75% of the $125.00 registration fee. It allowed me to learn new things and techniques that I look forward to sharing when I teach my workshop.” Cheri K., MMG Member
